This technique is probably the most common Cast off method, and is certainly the easiest to learn.
Begin by working the first two stitches in pattern. | |
Then, insert the left needle into the *first* stitch on the right needle, as shown (if the stitch is a Purl stitch, it may be easier to insert the needle in the back of the stitch, rather than as depicted): | |
Now, draw the first stitch over the second stitch. | |
Lastly, slip the first stitch off the right hand needle. |
The ultimate result is that the first stitch is looped over the second stitch. Now, work the next stitch in pattern, and repeat the process.
